The goal of the relaunch of Industriedenkmal-Stiftung was that the new website should properly represent the broad range of activities in which the foundation is involved: securing industrial landmarks, providing access to these facilities, and enhancing them with a new, landmark-oriented purpose.
The foundation's home page has a certain historical significance and the customer requested that it remain so. Its design was adapted and also linked to the content management system. It was enhanced to accept additional languages (English here), and received a news ticker that provides regular information on events related to industrial heritage and the landmarks protected by the foundation in a prominent position.

The sample page here is on the Zollverein coking plant. It demonstrates how the website can reflect the multifaceted work that the Industriedenkmal-Stiftung carries out at that particular location: The integration of images in a column on the side creates atmosphere. Visitors to the site can click an image and have it opened in an external viewer to receive a better impression with the larger format. The font and layout of the text is easy to read and is very informative. The clearly structured main menu on the left provides direct access to pages with information on the various topics. A horizontal menu bar is located in the header of the home page to allow for navigation through the main areas of the website.
Foundation: Details
The website redesigned and implemented by okamo was based on a content management system that was designed by okamo solely for the foundation's purposes. The CMS makes it possible to maintain all website content. Furthermore industrial landmarks are indexed systematically, which means that this reference system can be used as a basis for comparison with a very extensive link database on global industrial heritage.
Stiftung CMS Interface
The content management system (CMS) that okamo custom-designed for Industriedenkmal-Stiftung makes it possible to manage the content and structure of the entire website. In addition the CMS serves to index and create internal references between the different types of content available (images, texts, videos, etc.) and a very extensive link database.
The input mask shown here is used to capture data. It shows the possibilities of indexing and the creation of hyperlinks. These hyperlinks, which can be created optionally, offer the possibility of automatically creating image galleries very quickly and easily and integrating them into the website.
