Development of the logo for the TV music show "Hit Giganten" moderated by Hugo Egon Balder, commissioned by ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG. The producers wanted a powerful, easily identifiable, global logo to use for the TV show. They were particularly interested in the possibility of having a recognizable logo that could be placed on top of a number of different colors and heterogeneous backgrounds. We settled on a very reduced form for the overall object with a key association level: a logotype. This stylized graphic of a single is also highly flexible in its range of use. It can be placed in many different contexts.
Sat.1 makes the adjustments and changes depending on the current context for each in-house TV show.
This sampling illustrates the endless range of possibilities for the logo: The center area of the stylized single can be enhanced in any number of ways, such as for the covers of albums with hits from the 1970s, Italian music hits, disco hits, cult hits, rock songs, etc. The logo has a positive/negative structure, which means it can be placed over very dynamic backgrounds, yet it retains its optimum contrast integrity.

We developed many different studies in the initial phase, as is fitting of a gargantuan logo production as this one. The results were presented to the customer, discussed in teams, and eventually evaluated. At this stage of the project, communication with the customer was an integral part of our work in order to be successful. The results of the various discussions on the drafts formed the basis for each progressive stage. In the end we came up with a design that optimally fulfilled all of the customer's requirements.
