A style guide with all the technical documentation is needed before support, enhancement, and technical maintenance of a wide ranging offering on the web can be even possible. The complex requirements involved in a website such as the one from Electronic Arts (EA) are expressed in the design and technology used for the website. We developed an online style guide while working on the design and layout for the central German-language version of the EA website. It builds on an introduction into the individual EA brands and their special features and the different paradigms of the new online concept and includes very meticulous descriptions of a wide variety of design guidelines. We have prepared Photoshop template files, flash movies and help document resources on technical issues and made them available in the "Download Center" for use by content managers with the multitude of repetitive tasks involved. In addition our style guide documents the design work specific to the various games needed to create to create key visuals for the website.
