Mainpage and Download-Center
The main page (shown here on the left) concentrates on the three main elements in terms of content for EA Play’s presence on MySpace: a wide screen space for editorial content, and the Flash-based blog reader underneath and the video window that shows the very interesting playcast with Patrizia. The MySpace area that we design starts underneath this space, featuring the interactive medley with items such as Friends and Comments. One of the truly interesting phenomena of MySpace is, by the way, the fact that you can scroll to your heart’s desire: the profile pages on MySpace tend to be rather long. Furthermore, it used to be a kiss of death for web designers if they adopted this format: collecting as much content on one page as possible, forcing users to scroll intensively around on the page to find out everything. There is a Download Center on the right. It offers MySpace users the choice of two wallpaper motifs in three different sizes for the desktop and EA Play’s MySpace skin to use for their own MySpace profiles.
